Which workout should I do first?

Sometimes it’s hard to know where to start. Pilates Scotland has workouts that cater for all levels of fitness. We do suggest you start your Pilates journey with our beginner series even if you consider yourself to be fit and active. This will allow you to learn the concepts and basic exercises of practising Pilates which will enhance your training as you progress. Whichever class you start with, there will be options to start slowly. Listen to your body and take the appropriate option that feels right in that moment.

Anyone regardless of age or fitness level can train with Pilates Scotland online and see fantastic results. If you haven’t been active prior to starting your training with us, we highly recommend you seek medical advice before starting using our services.

Many of the Pilates Scotland online classes don’t require any equipment whatsoever. All you need is space to move safely and a mat if you prefer. By reading the information given when selecting your class, you can check if any equipment is required – for example, a dyno band, small hand weights or roller. It’s important that you hydrate before, during and after your workout so keep your water bottle handy!

How do I make sure I am doing my workouts safely and correctly?

We have a number of ‘How to’ videos that will help you master the moves in each class. We recommend you watch these short videos which cover the name of the exercise, the benefits, suggested range of movement, along with progression and modification options. These videos are found in the library section of your membership.
If at any time you feel you are exercising beyond your current fitness abilities, or you feel discomfort, pain, dizziness, or nausea, you should discontinue exercising immediately.
